This training helps leaders and hiring partners understand where bias comes from, notice it when it shows up and deploy strategy to mitigate the harmful impact that it will have if left unaddressed.

Helping Leaders Hire with Greater Awareness, Fairness, and Confidence

If most of your teams look and sound the same, but the community they serve do not, there may be unintended bias in the hiring practice. There might not be bad actors at play, but it can be harmful if unaddressed. This training teaches hiring managers how to recognize their own unintended bias (no shame involved), question it and ensure that it doesn’t get in the way of hiring qualified diverse teams. Leaders leave with greater self-awareness and the confidence to recognize and put away bias when it shows up. Because it shows up for all of us.

Nearly 40% of Canadian employees have taken stress leave, with 500,000 people missing work each week due to poor mental health (Canadian HR Reporter). This becomes a significant strain on productivity and profitability. In this talk/keynote, leaders learn how to help prioritize real employee wellness with tangible tools that go beyond “Yoga Fridays” so that staff can feel valued and show up as their best selves, absenteeism is reduced, and the bottom line is supported.

Many people in the Black community are very proud to attain “Black Excellence”, and with good reason. However many people don’t understand the many ways that striving for and attaining Black Excellence can be harmful. Attendees learn the pitfalls associated with this, how to avoid them, and a healthier alternative for Black achievement in North America.
